California here they come!

Local Amateur Dramatic Society The Chameleons are a group well known to the area for bringing both top quality children’s entertainment in the form of pantomimes at Brent Town Hall and a wide range of plays.

The Spring Production, California Suite by an American writer Neil Simon, looks likely to continue the tradition of first rate comedy. The play was first performed in 1976 and transferred to the screen. with an all star cast led by Michael Caine and Maggie Smith. The society hasn’t managed to persuade  these to appear, however the two directors, Robert Spolander and  Jason Kosky are rightly proud of the cast they have assembled. Jason is a relatively new member of the group having joined barely a year ago and he is a prime example of a growth in membership, especially young members. The production, a series of four individual playlets set in a hotel suite, deals with the sometimes hilarious sometimes tragic events in the lives of five couples. The play allows The Chameleons to work with several different types of comedy from the battle of wills in scene one to out and out farce in the final scene. Co-director Robert Spolander, who also plays a man losing his patience with his best friends on holiday is enthusiastic about past and future success. “With a reputation for comedy the society looks forward to once again offering our audience laughs, laughs and more laughs.”. The show runs from the 22nd to the 24th of April at the kingsland Hall in North Wembley and tickets are available by calling the box office
