It’s Dick Whittington’s “turn again”!In the 52 years The Chameleons have been performing pantomimes, Dick Whittington has taken his Cat to London on many occasions. In fact, when Samantha Ings picks up her napsack and leads Tom (Catherine Waters) to the Church of Ascension in just over ten days she’ll be the sixth to perform this thigh slapping role. We’re really excited for her and for our audiences and thought we’d dip back in to the archive…We start with our first production back in 1979, which saw Carole Garlick take on the role of future Lord Mayor of London. Joined by Angela Bolton as Tom, we’ve even found a picture!This was followed up in 1986 by Trish Lewis (Dick) & Stacey King (Tom) in search of streets paved with gold.In 1996 it was the turn of Victoria Murphy (Dick) & Lisa Pugh (Tom) to fight King Rat and his cronies and win the heart of fair Alice.Next up, in 2004 Linda Everett (Dick) & Helen Stevens (Tom) set forth across the seas from Dane Sam’s bar, looking for adventure.Finally, in 2012, much like today, the group found itself in need of a new venue. So, Rachel Spolander (this year’s director) as Dick and Helen Stevens (once more) as Tom led us off to Claremont High School for an Olympics themed adventure. We couldn't be more excited to be returning to our home borough of Brent for this performance of Dick Whittington. It's been 5 years since The The Chameleons Amateur Dramatic Society last performed a panto in Brent and it's great to be home!This is our first outing at The Church of the Ascension Wembley and we're delighted to be working together with them in the local community in Wembley.
