Remembering Auntie Joan

In January 2015 we received the sad news that Joan Munday, our President, Founder Member and, above all, our friend had passed away. We offer our deepest condolences to all Joan’s friends and family.
Joan performed with the society and helped behind scenes in many capacities from those early days right up until our recent production of “Radio Times”. She was an inspiration to all at the group and we will continue to raise a glass “to Auntie Joan” without whom none of this would be possible.

On February 28th 2015 Joan’s family hosted an afternoon’s celebration of life and many of our members past and present were invited to attend and perform. The afternoon featured a selection of favourite songs, segments of shows, and a large collection of photographs and stories. We thank the family and all those that helped make it possible.

The Munday Players

In February 2016, the doors opened on the ultimate tribute to Auntie Joan. The Munday Players is a youth group that meets on a Thursday. Well, we’re The Chameleons, of course it does! It’s a project designed to prepare the next generation of members by helping them to learn everything from song and dance to lighting and direction. What better way to celebrate the life of a lady who’s Sunday school class was the very place this all began.
